Globe Plotter started with a very simple question; one we're guessing you've asked yourself too.
"Can we actually do this?"
We're a family of three. We have a 10 year old son, and a house in the UK that we've decided to sell. We're not retiring early. We're not tech millionaires. We're just a small family who looked at the numbers long enough to realise that the life we wanted; travel, sunshine, a plot of land, a project, slower mornings, and a different kind of education for our son, was more achievable than we'd let ourselves believe.
The thing that changed our thinking wasn't a podcast or a YouTube video. It was a spreadsheet. Then a better spreadsheet. Then the interactive plan you'll find on this site, which we built ourselves, to plan our journey.
Globe Plotter is that plan, now we're offering it to others.
OUR PLAN
Where we're headed
We're finishing our renovation then selling up and spending 12 months travelling. Probably Bali first, then Japan, Thailand, followed by a long, meander through southern Europe while we scout for the plot we might call home. Probably in Portugal. Possibly Italy...who knows! Somewhere with good sun, a nice town close by, a renovation project, and internet fast enough for us to keep working.
We're documenting every step. From the renovation and sale of our current house. The finances. The visa applications. The worldschooling experiments. The property viewings. The moments that are harder than we expected and the ones that are better than we dreamed.
